Apple pulls iTether App for iPhone (Updated with statements by developers)

UPDATE [Tuesday, November 29, 2011]: iTether app development team published a blog post offering their side of the story.

It was great while it lasted, but iTether is absent from the App Store now. Unluckily, seems the combined effects of the hype and excitement, likely coupled with iTether’s workaround of some of the App Store limitations, may have motivated Apple enough to pull them from the store. Yesterday just after the arrival of iTether Apple fans, primarily power users who criticized Apple on their strict rules and previous exclusions of tethering programs like Netshare.

Even well, appreciations like this one make us wonder how such apps ever make it into the Apple Store in the top position. Apparently, the net connection sharing works in lot of places outside the United States, so the U. S readers are more interested in program to use their iPhone’s cellular data on their systems with no extra carrier fees.

The Tether.com web site was down at press time. Canada-based developers yesterday tweeted on twitter that Apple took no issue with the program. “We were very clear with Apple what our app did. They asked us a bunch of questions and then approved us”, the team wrote. The original iTunes link  is no longer exist so you will have to look somewhere else. • Now select your device in iTunes in the list view then hit the restore button while holding the left side Shift key on your keyboard and this will allow you to navigate to your custom firmware file created by Sn0wbreeze. The process has been complete with this.

Beside Red snow and Sn0wbreeze there is another tool for called Acidra1n. It is not a different tool from the other yet it has meant to tether jailbreak on iOS 5.0 or 5.0.1. But it fails in iPad 2 and iPhone 4S because of its A5 chip. Based on functionality it has a great future, it is supported for Mac OS X lion but expectantly it will work on Mac OS X Snow leopard. Options which has included in this tool are jailbreak, exit recovery, Pwned DFU and tethered boot.

Ac1dsnow is one which will be able to jailbreak 5.0.1 on iPhone 3G, iPhone 4,iPod touch 3G and 4G  and iPad 1. Ac1dsnow is a new jailbreak tool developed by Pwn Dev Team. But it can’t jailbreak the latest iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and untethered iOS 5, it is easier compare to Redsnow and Sn0wbreeze.  It is currently available on Mac OS X user as it is a beta version. It can boot the device to do a secure jailbreak on iOS 5.0.1 and iOS 5.0. In future it may able to make jailbreak the remote devices also. It doesn’t support to iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

It is very easy to jailbreak with Ac1dsnow. You need to download it on your Mac OS X then launch it to see the options, now connect your device to your Mac and turn it off to set your device in to DFU mode. Once it is in DFU mode click the jailbreak button. As this is tethered jailbreak you have to click hit the tethered boot whenever you restarted your device.
