Few people who have upgraded to iOS 5 already are complaining about their device battery getting drained out very quickly since they got it updated. Here is a solution for this issue. By following few simple steps you can improve the battery life of your device.
Location services:
By disabling few services in the location services you can save your battery power. To do this got to settings->Location services-> now disable services that you usually don’t use.
Bluetooth
Switch off your device Bluetooth when it is not use. To do this go to
Settings -> General -> Blutooth -> oFF
TimeZone adjustment
The TimeZone adjustments eat up a lot of battery power while updating the device timing. Disabling these settings will improve the battery life of your phone considerably. To do it, go to
Settings-> Location services-> System services ->set time zone to off.
Reset Network Settings
Reset the network settings to get better battery life. You can do this by
Tapping on Settings-> Reset-> Reset Network settings.
Diagnostic & usage report
A lot of battery is utilised in preparing useless Diagnostic and usage reports. To save this battery power, turn off these reports by tapping on
Settings->General-> About-> Diagnostic and usage: set it to don’t send.
Disable Ping
If the ping option is active it utilises a considerable amount of battery. Its better to disable the ping option. You can do it by
Settings-> General-> Restrictions-> Enable Restrictions-> Ping-> OFF.
One Tip which improves your battery life to a great extent is to Disable your Email accounts. You can do it by tapping on your
Settings-> Mail, Contacts, Calender-> Account name-> Delete Account.
Once you have this reset your network settings ( as you did earlier) and reboot your device and again add your accounts through
Settings-> Mail, contacts, calenders->Add account.
