How to Jailbreak iOS 5 [iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad and iPod touch]

Here is a guide on how to jailbreak iOS 5, iPhone3GS, iPhone 4, original iPad, and you iPod touch 3G and 4G. The redsn0w tool can jailbreak iOS 5 tethered. If you do not know what a tethered boot is, it means that you will have to plug your device on to your mac or computer each time it reboots to make it a tethered boot from redsn0w. Here are the steps to do so.
Before you start up with jailbreak, make sure that you have downloaded all the requirements mentioned below:
*iTunes 10.5 for Mac or Windows
*iOS 5 for your iPad, iPhone 4 or iPod touch
*Redsn0w 0.9.9b4. If you manage to get Redsnow 0.9.9b5 you can skip the step 2 of this tutorial.

Step 1
Connect the device which you like to jailbreak and sync it with iTunes and restore to iOS 5.

Step 2
Open redsn0w and click on extras and select the IPSW and point it to the iOS 5 IPSW file.

Step 3
Hit back and jailbreak and then check on install Cydia.

Step 4
Follow on-screen instructions and get your device into DFU mode.

Step 5
Once you install few important exploits your device will be jailbroken within few minutes. Once jailbroken a white Cydia icon appears. You will now need a tethered boot to get your device working. Also in future if you wish to reboot your device, you should go for a tethered boot itself.
