Update: Apple Gained Control over Porn iPhone-Related Domain Names

Apple had filed a complaint earlier this month on Porn Site Operator under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) in an try to gain control over iPhone related domain names which has been registered by one more party and set to hand over to a porn site. Most important to notice among these domain names is iPhone4S.com, the highest profile domain associated with Apple’s new iPhone hardware.

Now the Apple has got control over the domain name in question, as the UDRP has been ended following the defendant’s agreement to turn the domains over to Apple. Apple ended the case soon after the domain owner agreed to turn the domain name over. The whois record for the domains changed to brand protection company MarkMonitor today:

MarkMonitor is the brand protection agency used by several large companies including Apple to anonymously manage such holdings as domain names. A note for our readers is, the domain names in question continues to forward to the porn site at this time, as the site continues to point to the previous owner's DNS server settings and only the various contact information fields for the site are appearing under MarkMonitor at this time.

When the case was filed the domain ownership information was protected by whois privacy. This was later removed to disclose an Israeli company owned the domain names.

The seven domain names are:

iphonecamforce.com
iphonecam4s.com
iphoneporn4s.com
iphonesex4s.com
iphonexxxforce.com
iphone4s.com
porn4iphones.com

I would not suppose Apple to resolve any of these seven domain names, except iPhone4S.com,  [update: some readers have pointed out that the names still forward to the porn sites. The nameservers still point to the old source, so Apple/MarkMonitor needs to change these ASAP.]
