Apple suggest Samsung to make this crappy Tablet

Apple recently requested that Samsung start designing its tablets differently. Why? So as not to infringe on the iPad’s precious design.
What would Samsung’s next tablet look like if Apple had its way? The answer: really, really bad.
This is what Apple’s lawyers proposed to Samsung:
  •  Overall shape that isn’t rectangular, or doesn’t have rounded corners.
  •  Thick frames rather than a thin rim around the front surface.
  •  Front surface that isn’t entirely flat.
  •  Profiles that isn’t thin.
  •  Cluttered appearance.
That translates to Samsung making a fat, “cluttered” tablet with a thick bezel in the shape of an octagon. Let’s see how well that sells.
Apple told Samsung to make the worst tablet imaginable. As Thomas Baekdal eloquently describes on Baekdal, Apple didn’t design the iPad, it undesigned it. The iPad is the “core essence” of what a tablet device should be. Apple asking Samsung to make something totally contradictory to common sense is pompous and condescending.

Apple Vs Samsung ruling reveals secret details

In Apple-Samsung Electronics legal battle more secrets are coming out of the court documents. Regrettably, none of them are too juicy. In issuing a court order denying Apple’s request for a ban on Samsung products. U.S District judge Lucky Koh has released a document, which reveals some of the details on these two companies. Koh later withdrew that document and replaced it with one where the details were redacted.

According to Reuters none of the secrets revealed from the documents were devastating. The secrets exposed from documents are that Apple doesn’t consider Samsung to be a major threat. Apple’s own study found that its existing customers were unlikely to trade in their iPhone for a Samsung Smartphone. Rather, Samsung would take market share away from some of the other Android Smartphone manufacturers.

Samsung, meanwhile, argued that Apple’s supply cannot keep up with demand for its iPhone. Despite the companies’ conflict, Samsung supplies Apple with processors and the other components for its mobile devices. Koh was unconvinced about the argument, referring Apple’s evidence showing its ability to keep up with long-term demand.

The document was the same as the one the Verge named in its reports that Apple had offered Samsung a licensing arrangement in November 2010-before the proceedings began. The offer suggests Apple had at one point been willing to work with Android partners, which contrasts with the wider perception that the company is attempting to close down Android’s momentum.

According to the document the Verge reported that Apple has licensed its OS technology to Nokia and IBM. The Verge also reported in addition that Apple has suggested some alternative designs that Samsung could follow. So that it can avoid infringing upon Apple’s style. Apple also suggested that phone wasn’t in rectangular shape or had rounded corners or adding more mess to the front of the device among other points. For tablets it has suggested thicker frames around the screen, a front surface that isn’t entirely flat, a thicker design similarly no rectangle design.

There is no end in sight to the Samsung- Apple legal battle, which has touched down in Australia; the Netherlands; Germany; parts of Asia; France and Italy among other places. Samsung has itself hit back with its own patent infringement proceedings and has denied violating any intellectual property.
