Patently Apple points to a patent application from Apple published today that reveals the company’s research of innovative methods and enactments for establishing communication between neighboring devices towards resolve data transmission. In its application, Apple recommends by using camera system try to identify the marks such as barcodes or even invisible ink to permit devices to identify each other.
For instance, every device can display a seed to be identified from an image taken by another device. With the use of extracted keys or seeds, each of devices can produce, using a identical process, and same digital handshake key. The digital handshake key can then be used to express a secure communication path between those two devices and share information securely.
Apple defines a hundreds of settings in which users might wish to rapidly launch a secure connection between devices, either for social networking or for gaming to retail transactions.
Furthermore, Apple defines how users could rapidly log into a device such as a computer by using a digital handshake initiated from another device such as an iPhone.
The patent application was filed in May 2010 and is credited to Apple user interface designers Marcel Van OS and Caroline Cranfill.
